Youth Services

nullWelcome to Youth Services!

We are thrilled to offer a variety of in-person programs for young readers.

Alphabits: Join us on Tuesday mornings in Auditorium A for Alphabits. Learn and play with us throughout the year as we learn our letters and some ASL to boot! Take home a craft at the end of each Alphabits session to reinforce what you learned at the library at home.

Storytimes- Join us on Thursday and select Saturday mornings in Auditorium A at 10:30 am to move, groove, and grow! These storytimes are designed to promote early literacy through music and movement. This program is geared toward children from birth to age 5, but all are always welcome.

Family Fun Nights - We offer a variety of programs on Tuesday nights from 6 pm to 7 pm for school-age children! Pick up a calendar to see when cooking classes, movie nights, LEGO nights, and more are happening!

Teen Room - Most school days, we offer a dedicated space for our local teens to hang out in Auditorium A  after school from 3 pm - 5 pm. Join us for pre-planned activities or just to hang out. Parents and Guardians are gently reminded that this is not a childcare program, and that teens who do not follow library rules may be asked to leave for the day to ensure the library remains a usable and welcoming space for all patrons.

Youth Services monthly calendars are available at the SCPL Circulation Desk.

Follow us on Facebook for up-to-date program information and special events! For any questions, you may email the Library's Assistant Director, tobey@scplwv.org.
